Rep. Dean Heller recently led local newspapers to believe that he is considering not running against Harry Reid in 2010. Heller seems pretty happy with his spot in the first district and is even fonder of his seat with the Ways and Means Committee. Who could blame him, it's the most influential financial committee in politics. He's served his district well after winning the seat in 2006 by a narrow margin.

However, the margin was anything but thin when he ran as the incumbent in 2008. The people of Nevada's first district obviously like what they see in Heller and aren't ready to let him go, anytime soon. Congressman Heller has been serving the fine state and inhabitants of Nevada for almost twenty years. This native Carson City State Representative firmly believes in helping the people of his fine State continue their prosperity.

Dean was recently named Policy Chair of the Western Caucus. It's obvious that not only do the people love what they've seen the Congressman do, the other politicians do, too. Like many other good Republicans, Dean Heller cares about the environment and wildlife. This is a huge component to what would make him a spectacular Senator.

The State of Nevada fights a long, hard war to keep illegal immigrants from crossing the border into the United States through their borders. Dean Heller has been tough on cutting back on the benefits that these illegal immigrants are getting from his State and Federal welfare programs, as well. The State of Nevada needs someone who isn't afraid to stand up and fight for its rights.

While Senator Reid and others in Washington say that they are opposed to illegal immigrants yet they seem to do the opposite. Rep. Heller is not foreign to the concept of hypocritical opposition. He's been fighting it for years and strives to give the people of his State just what he says he will.

One item that is deep in the hearts and minds of Nevada residents is the current plan that Democrats are pushing across the table regarding health care. If the Democrats get their way, the government will run all health care and it will be mandated by the very politicians that Dean Heller opposes. The current plan that they are trying to set forth would leave more than 114 million Americans without health care of any sort.

They Democrats want to raise taxes for everyone who works and wants to levy heavy new taxes on the small businesses that are currently helping our Country get back on its feet. Dean is a strong advocate for giving Americans the fair opportunities they deserve with respect to health care.

Nevada needs someone in office who will stand up for what's fair, what's right. The State of Nevada needs to continue to be allowed to thrive and create opportunities for the present and future generations. Rep. Dean Heller would make an incredible Senator and it is the firm hope of this writer and everyone I know that he changes his mind and runs against Reid in 2010.
