There were many factories that came up in the late eighteenth and nineteenth century. And some of these factories are still in production like the Royal Worcester Porcelain Company. Most of these factories have closed down long time back, like that of the Longton Hall. Many of the pieces of their wares are still in existence.

It all began in 1963 when Stan Weston, who was a toy inventor, saw how the Barbie doll for girls had become such a huge success. He invented a military themed "doll",which could be marketed to boys. Don Levine, who was the creative director of Hasbro at that time,thought this was a good idea and approved it. He also named the line,after a 1945 movie "The Story of G.I. Joe".

Civil War antiques seem to have a lasting impact with their collectors, which is believed to be associated with how the war affected so many Americans and how it also provided a new meaning of freedom for some of those Americans. The world loves a good sports match. It allows us to follow a competitive game and become invested in the match which is happening. We can pick a favorite team and root for them all the way through the season, hoping that they come out on top. By the same token, we can pick an impressive player from any team and follow their career, watching how well they play and stack up against their competition. It allows us to watch someone with interest and support their rising success. It is only natural that with such interest and dedication devoted to following our favorite sports, that we would want to decorate parts of our home with signs of that support.
