Top London Art Gallery Experiences

London has the greatest density of art galleries in the whole of the United Kingdom. With somewhere in the region of 400 galleries to choose from to consume some fine art, it can be a tough choice for the art lover, and sometimes all you need do is put on a pair of comfy shoes and go in search of a London art gallery that meets your expectations. I have some great memories of my time as an art student and following my tutors from east end to west end in search of inspiration. Sometimes it came down to the prestigious location of a gallery, other times, the work of a single artist could have blown me away if it'd found it under a bridge. Here are some of my favourite moments and recommended art exhibitions.

What You Don’t Know About Bourgeois Gothic Style

Bourgeois Gothic - The Perpendicular style, with its fan vaults and thin screen-like walls, was the English reaction to the Black Death. While the French were still crushed by the Hundred Years War (1337-1453) they built almost nothing, but when they did they created in the flamboyant style of St Maclou and the Beauvais Cathedral transepts stunning feats of architectural virtuosity.

Art Canvas Prints Giclee

The intent of that name was to distinguish commonly known industrial "Iris proofs" from the type of fine art prints artists were producing on those same types of printers. The name was originally applied to fine art prints created on Iris printers in a process invented in the early 1990s but has since come to mean any high quality ink-jet print and is often used in galleries and print shops to denote such prints.
