The vertical flute is meant to be played in an upright position. There are three designs of a vertical flute, including the rim-blown flute, a transversely blown flute and a tubular duct flute. While these three different types are referred to as a vertical flute, the rim-blown flute is more readily recognized as a vertical flute.

Kiss Tickets - Finally Nominated for Hall of Fame Induction

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominations for 2009 have just been announced, and as Rolling Stone puts it, this year is "one of the most diverse ever," with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, LL Cool J, Kiss and Genesis leading the pack, as well as the Stooges, Donna Summer, ABBA, Darlene Love, Laura Nyro, the Chantels, the Hollies and Jimmy Cliff. Artists eligible for the nod had to have released their first single no later than 1984 - as the eligibility for recognition must be 25 years after their debut release. While it's the first time the Kiss rockers have received their name on the ballot, for others it's become an annual ritual. As it marks the first time for the face painted screamers, fans are relieved to finally see their favorite up for bid.

An Overview Of Linux Relationship With The Ipod

Apple makes iPod for Mac and Windows, but not for the open source operating system Linux. Because of this, Linux developers began working on an iPod solution for Linux. When developers began testing Linux with iPod it was partly just to see if it could work. It did. However, initially there was no real need for it and no benefits for users who installed Linux onto their iPods. They just simply had two operating systems on their iPod were the Apple firmware and iPodLinux. Once the concept was proven, more work was done to tweak the system and its capabilities. Now, installing Linux on the iPod is a way to add capabilities and enhancements beyond the basics.
