This sounds like a simple enough way to earn money and lot of people fill in the forms as requested. However, the harsh reality of lots of these jobs is that you are asked for a once-off administration fee so they can maintain their database of clients. This fee can range from $10 to $90.

After paying the fee, you'll get access to a list of Websites that may have some data entry work. Numerous sites are dead links. Some are only available in certain countries. Yet others ask for more money before they will give you access to work.

A huge part of the online home based business arena is Internet marketing. Claims you'll come across can include:

- Work 3 hours a day and earn $5000 a month
- Make $1000 a day
- Become a millionaire in 90 days
- Buy this or that and learn the tricks the "gurus" use
- Buy some hot product at a huge discount for today only
- This offer is limited to the next 30 people
- And so forth

The bottom line with every single advertisement, email, banner, opportunity or classified ad is that you MUST do your research BEFORE wasting money. There are numerous Websites dedicated to revealing the various scams online.

Google the name of the business you are looking at, or Google words such as scam, scam Websites and /or forums and similar searches and you should be able to find more about the business you are considering becoming involved with.

If you can't find any mention of it, it is an obvious scam. If you find numerous mentions, check the various sources. Then you can make an educated decision for yourself.
