The most common factor that influences a changing quote rate is if a shipment is based on weight and a customer misrepresents the weight of their shipment because they are simply estimating. In these cases, most quotes will stipulate that the rate is subject to change pending the actual weighting of the cargo. Terms like this should be stated clearly in the quote, or you can also ask a representative of the courier company to explain any costs in the quote that could change from the time it was issued to when your invoice is due if you choose to use that company's services.
