The Jonas Brothers' latest album, Lines, Vines and Trying Times, is creating quite a stir in the music industry. After waning sales and skeptical remarks from critics about their musical staying power, the Brothers are back in force and are apparently very pleased with the outcome of the newest effort. The album includes songs that reflect the Jonas Brothers' personal lives. Nick, Joe and Kevin seem to be comfortable with the fact that listeners will be able to dissect their personal feelings and emotions.
The tracks reference personal relationships that the boys have experienced, including ones with other music stars Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus. Some of the ballads include: Nick's duet with Cyrus called "Before the Storm" and Joe's breakup ballad directed towards Taylor Swift called "Much Better." The Jonas Brothers have gripped hold of the music industry with their hook filled pop anthems especially catering to the younger tween and teen crowds. Comprised of brothers Joe, Kevin and Nick they started performing as a band in their home state of New Jersey in the early 2000s. They released their full-length debut album titled It's About Time in August 2006. It made the number 91 spot on the Billboard charts and gave the boys a modest following of fans, especially those tuned into Radio Disney. It is a fun album, filled with happy pop tunes like: "What I Go To School For," "Time for Me to Fly" and "Year 3000."
The boys self-titled sophomore effort was more successful. It arrived in stores in August 2007 and the band supported the effort by embarking on an extensive tour, with a stop at the Gibson Theatre in Los Angeles. The boys sold out that night, leading to fueled interest in their music. They also filmed the reality television show, Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream, which documented the band's life on the road. The film helped to launch the band's next hot single, "Burnin' Up" in 2008. A Little Bit Longer followed the success of the song. On this record the boys mix a bit of maturity with their teeny-pop sound, while still managing to retain their appeal to their most loyal fan base. The album included the songs "BB Good," "Burnin' Up" and "Lovebug."
The boys have already been busy this year, releasing Music from the 3D Concert Experience as well as a film of the same name. Now their have their fourth studio album, Lines, Vines and Trying Times, which is likely to also have a major impact on the industry and help further the brothers' career even more. The album includes the ballads: "World War III," "Paranoid" and "What Did I Do to Your Heart." In this effort, they are also trying to distance themselves from the candy-coated pop tunes and offer up something a bit more meaningful and lasting. Keep an eye out for all of the Jonas Brothers' successes and don't miss them live.
